Pai Trek
(Near Chiang Mai)

This 3-day, 2-night trek was in an area called Pai. It is northwest of Chiang Mai, about 3 hours by car. We were led by Tom, a member of the Karen tribe, who was assisted by Beckham, a 14-year old boy constantly carrying his slingshot, and Bai, a deaf man with an enormous sense of humor.

Me, playing a hackey sack-type game with a boy in the village where we ate lunch. You use a small rattan ball. I found it quite difficult, and I think the boy did as well (he kept having to chase the ball after my bad kicks).
